Sean Carney is a native of Columbus, Ohio native and veteran of the blues scene. He was the recipient of the IBC Blues Foundation Albert King Best Guitarist Award in 2007, and can be seen playing the “blue guitar” – a custom Gibson 335 with the Blues Foundation logo. Not only is he known for his tone, skill and style, Sean is a true gentleman and contributor to the blues world. He enthusiastically promotes the blues in the US and abroad, and participates actively in the CAMP Blues-Jazz Academy in Columbus, Ohio, helping the young embrace the blues.He has been acknowledged as an innovator in publications such as Blues Revue Magazine and enjoys frequent airplay on Sirus/XM Radio’s “Bluesville.”

Carney and his drummer Eric Blume formed Nite Owlz Records in 2006 and recently released “Live Blues on Whyte.” We had the opportunity see and hear Sean at the Heritage Bluesfest in August 2009 and more recently at the Bradfordville Blues Club (BBC) in Tallahassee, Florida, and the Daytona Blues Festival.
